The Tutoring Center provides remediation and support based on how a specific individual learns best empowering them to maximize their learning capacity. Having a learning disability can affect an individual’s ability to read, write, speak, do math and build social relationships. The Orton-Gillingham-based Approach to teaching language is a sequential system that embraces a learner-centered philosophy. The Multisensory component teaches through sound, sight, sense of touch and movement. One-to-one tutoring using the Orton-Gillingham-based multisensory method maximizes each individual learning style. Multisensory math uses a hands-on approach that makes mathematics fun by building a bridge, drawing it and equating it. All lessons are provided one-to-one. Both methods utilize a multisensory, sequential, cumulative, fun approach to learning. |
